Hi Everyone

So many people have been visiting this site and haven't seen activity last summer - did I go away? Of course not! I just focused on other blogs and have now decided to transition this site to me personally. First let's get up to speed on what has been going on. I am still the Editor of See Pretty Things which continues to focus on accessories and has been around for the past 18 months! Because of this, I went to Las Vegas to visit with designers and showrooms at Project, Accessories Show, Lingerie Show and more to create additional content for this blog. It was the first time that I had ever went to some of these shows and to the city and I had an AMAZING time.

I am also the Editor of a new blog The Kitten Lounge which is all about entertainment and style. I love sharing my information with all of you in this forum and to be able to include other fashion elements that I have not been able to in See Pretty Things. This site has been around since last fall and has definitely been generating a lot of buzz over the past few months.

I also became a contributing writer under the name Kitten Diva for Social Diva. This blog has been a lot of fun since we are writers that cover various locations: Miami, NY, Atlanta and LA. I love including events that people may not know about - it's like getting in on the inside. This has let me get in on a few trunk shows, fashion week (I did enjoy covering Vyctoria Hong's show - the former contestant of Season 4's Project Runway) and more.

In addition to blogging, I have definitely stepped it up in terms of my jewelry design and I am pleased to report that there are some positive things going on due to the success of Kitten Couture. It is because of this that I have returned to the Kitten Couture Blog as a means to share my experience as I work as a jewelry designer. I think it's a great way to share with you guys and to get feedback as well. So I look forward to hearing your feedback as well.

Finally, while I work on the Internet and Jewelry front, I continue to enjoy working my day job at Lacoste which is a lot of fun and is definitely teaching me more everyday about the business of fashion. I say all this to say that this site will be back up and running and you will enjoy hearing more about my line and just my personal thoughts while I encourage you to visit my other sites to find fashion specific information!

Rock it Out

I love turning heads but isn't it better when you feel that you're in your own skin? This isn't to say that I don't love getting all dolled up in heels, cute dress, slinky top, etc but I like a simple glam look too. I must say that I am a fan of our Sponsored designer, VJUCool who knows how to turn heads in a simple tee (whether you're a guy or a girl I must say). I love that this shirt incorporates a Japanese theme with Geisha (love it) and the whole tattoo idea as well. I would never get one but I have no problem sporting one with my tee. The shirts by VJUCool are definitely artistic which makes it more than your typical graphic that you may gravitate to.

In addition I love that there are so many graphics available that you will find the right one that represents you or whoever you may be buying this for. In addition, they're so artistic that it's like walking art which gives it a completely different air. I have to say that with shirts like these, with great stories and a new found of understanding of what they represent, you may find that you become an active collector of VJUCool.

Feed 100 for Under $40

In the US it's hard to think of being able to feed 100 people for one day; however, it can be done. The UN World Food Programme, its Spokesperson Lauren Bush and Marie Claire, have come together to support the needs of children in Third World Countries. The Feed shirt is fashionable and comfortable; however, visit Marie Claire and purchase one to ensure that you have assisted someone else. If you love the shirt and want to make it a set, check out the FEED Bag and find out how to get it.

Kitten Couture: Lovely Lariats

As many of you know from this blog and my other blogs, I am the designer of Kitten Couture which is resort inspired lifestyle wear that is perfect to wear for a variety of occassions. This month I launched a new collection of lariats which I feel to be a way that each person can wear in an individual way. Whether you tie them or wrap them, it's unique to you and what you're wearing. I have included a sampling; however, feel free to visit my site to find more that you'll love.

The Erika Lariat is like the baby of my collection. I love the use of Carnelian that dominates this piece as well as the Mother of Pearl and Snail Shell as well. It's such a great piece that reminds me of elements of sunset and wears well whether you're in the summer or in the fall. It's great to have a classic piece that's perfect for all seasons.

Although all pieces that I create envoke a resort life, Ariel Lariat brings in the beach and everything that you can think of that goes with it. This turquoise piece with Botswana Agate and use of Mother of Pearl looks so nice with turquoise dresses or simple pieces like a white tank and a pair of jeans. It truly is a great look.

The Giselle Lariat is a perfect Spring and Fall piece that uses Citrine, Botswana Agate, Tiger Eye and other shells to present a neutral palate with slight pops of color. This piece works well with a variety of looks.

The Melanie Lariat is a great neutral piece that brings in cream and brown. I love that it incorporates Tiger Eye, polished wooden pieces, shell and other elements that make this a great piece to add to your outfit.

Check out more items from Kitten Couture and continue to look for additional items that are constantly being added!

CFDA 2007 Awards Brings Out the Best

The CFDA Awards brought out some of our favorite designers and celebs as well. It's nice to see so many of fashions' greatest in one place being honored for their passion!

Ralph Lauren and his wife attended this event. What a busy time for them since they just opened a store in Moscow. I love her dress!

Michael Kors and Debra Messing were also on hand. I have really become a fan of Michael Kors recently, it seems like overnight I started getting more of his pieces in my closet. I love his classic style which fits so perfectly with mine.

Miss Universe 2007, Riyo Mori, of Japan has a fabulous dress. I love the color and its simplicity!

What a fab trio. Oscar De La Renta posed with Lezaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough. They all share one thing in common, they all tied for the Womenswear Designer of the Year.

Derek Lam, one of my personal favorites, was named Accessories Designer of the Year.

Robert Morris was given a Lifetime Achievement Award.

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright received the Menswear Designer of the Year.

Above, Zac Posen poses during the awards.

Sao Paulo Fashion Week Brings Something New

Once again, my attention turns to the fabulous designs that graced the Brazilian catwalks. Sao Paulo enjoyed a fabulous Fashion Week with a variety of talented designers.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite dresses that I saw on this particular runway. I love the goddess effect and how free flowing it is as well. The pop of gold is also a fashionable touch. This dress and the below are creations of Marcelo Quadros. This strapless dress begs to be danced in and paired with super cute strappy heels.

This dress is another fabulous dressy number that not only has the shimmery effect because of the color but also because of the fringe as well. This is yet another great piece to pair with strappy heels and chandelier earrings. It's nice to have "that dress" on a night out where you want to make sure that everyone knows you're there!

This dress is definitely a dramatic piece with its white and black motif. Samuel Cirnansck makes a pieces that is definitely one that you would expect to see in an exhibit showcasing a designer's emergence into stunning fashion. I can only imagine the expressions on people's faces as this piece hit the runway.

You know that I love bathing suits and this one is a favorite. I love this suit by 2nd Floor. I think my favorite part is the side tie. I love the purple, turquoise and red that play well together - like a festive party. Also note the bangles - so cute.

Julianna Rae Has Us in Mind

I love a classic sexy way of approaching intimates. There's something about great fabrics, lace embellishment and a simple design that can be just as amazing as daring cuts and angles. There's room for both in your closet but Julianna Rae definitely makes sure that we all look our absolute best with her whimsical approach! I love the statement above. What's underneath truly says something about you and this designer knows how to capture all the moments of you or a friend or anyone else that you know of!

There's something about adding a spice of the old world to where we are today. I think this classic cami and tap pant is a great blend that should be a staple in everyone's wardrobe.

A simple chemise definitely comes in handy whether you're at home, on vacation or have guests over. This is great to pair with a robe. It's also a very relaxed piece that allows your personality to shine through.

The print of this chemise is eye catching and is definitely for a period where you want to make a noticeable statement while still excluding many of the classic elements of this piece. I love the neutral tones and the subtle print that does take anything away from the overall image.

A Minty Dream

This weekend, I have focused a lot on underwear - it is an essential and although you can always go for great functional pieces, you can also have fun with this portion of your wardrobe. I think Nancy Yoo of Fleur't would agree! I love this Amber Lace Front Camisole Set which is in a fabulously cool shade of mint green. I also love that although this is meant to wear around the house, you can also pair this with a great jacket and jeans. This is such a versatile way in making sure that your great taste is known and not just within your phone walls. So, allow your inner diva to make her presence heard and check out the great finds at Fleur't

Head Over to Bela Bum Bum

A well rounded wardrobe is necessary - scratch that essential! Bela Bum Bum tends to agree by putting out a little sweet sass in their super cute lingerie/lounge line (those who are interested in maternity wear will find a variety of items of interest). I love this collection. The icecream colors and a nod to all that is serene and sweet blends with some of the sexiest items that are featured on the site. As you click through the site, you'll notice that a variety of the prints, girls shorts and more are enough to completely revamp your wardrobe. Pictured above are my absolute favorites and I have to say that I am partial to the Gingham set. I also love that for the lounge piece, there's cute detailing on the pants with the lace. Finally, I love the citrus vibe of the other cami/panty set. These are nice touches that allow the wearer to feel comfortable without questioning if they look plain if an unexpected visitor. Take some time to check out this site and all of their offerings. PS - the name, Bela Bum Bum is too adorable!

Nightie Night

We all love to talk about what we see everyday when it comes to how we dress; however, our underthings and even that which we wear within our homes is just as important. S.P.A.N.K. puts a little fun into their line which stands for Sexy Panties and Naughty Knickers! This UK based company has generated a lot of press for their ability to create fun pieces that show a bit of their sassy side. One of my favorite pieces from their entire collection (don't feel that your favorite guy is left out since S.P.A.N.K has him covered as well) is this super cute nighty which comes in Turquoise (shown above), Black, Cream and Fuchsia. Such magazines as Harper & Queens, Hello and You have had nothing but amazing things to say about this sassy brand which means that it's a must to include within your closet! I love that you could be wearing the cutest outfit known to man but underneath you could have a french knicker, woman's boxer of nighty knicker. Visit this site and begin to think of holes in your collection that S.P.A.N.K. can fill as you shop online in bliss!

A Little Rio Love

I can't wait for the day that I go to Brazil. The fashion scene must be amazing. From evening wear to bathing suits and back, the designers know how to dress and the people know how to wear the looks. So of course, I'm presenting a variety of collections and designers from Fashion Rio Spring 2007 in Rio de Janeiro.

I love the regal royal blue of this outfit! This outfit by Mara Mac is absolutely stunning on this model. I also love that it's a dress and a bit of a jumper as well. This off the shoulder look is definitely sexy. With strappy heels or wedges, this is perfect for an outing!

I love this goddess effect and will definitely look for this designer. I love anytime there are natural elements that assist to enhance the outfit. It's amazing that this event took place outside in a beautiful building.

I am all about swimwear and loved the pieces by Salinas' both the picture above this text and the one below are created by this talented designer. Of the two images, I have to say that I love the one below. The model looks amazing in this suit and I wouldn't mind having this within my own collection.

Tessuti's design with the belted cover up over the bathing suit is simplistic and elegant at the same time. I love the neutral tone with a little kick in it. This sems like the perfect ensemble to wear in your cabana with a few friends.

Grace Ottoni's beautiful dress caught my eye and made me remember one of my favorite Barbie outfits at the same time. The outfits are nothing alike but I will share anyway. There was a Barbie entitled "Peaches and Cream". This dress was my absolute favorite - I loved that it was a ball gown with a sheer flouncy body from the waist down. I loved twirling my Barbie and seeing the dress spin out. I always felt I should have a dress like this. The dress above isn't Peaches and Cream but it's a sexy Tangerine Gift! I love how it ties in back and begs to have seriously strappy heels to pair with this. How perfect would this be with a clutch - I love it!

You can never have enough bathing suits and fortunately, designer Cantao agrees. I love this bathing suit which looks like something you would wear to an exotic, out of the way Fiji or Bali resort. I love how relaxed and laid back this suit looks. Sometimes you don't have to have all the flash (although it's always nice).

Take Notes from a Student

Don't you love how creativity can come from those who have been seasoned and those that are still honing their skills? Although it can be said that no matter how long you've been in the business, you're still perfecting how you present your expression. Above is an image from the British Graduate Fashion Week. Whoever designed this piece is definitely going to have their choice in jobs and must have an amazing portfolio. This event was attended by Mrs Beckham herself.

Puerta de Europa Bridal Show - Madrid

The other day I was with a friend of mine who was looking for a wedding dress. It made me think that with it being June, having a few posts dedicated to wedding dresses might be a nice idea. Although this post only has one image, scroll down to see more dresses from Barcelona's Bridal Fashion Week.

This dress has a simplistic elegance that I love. Model Martina Klein appeared at the "Puerta de Europa" Bridal Show in Madrid for Spanish designer Jose Luis Novias. I love the green sash that adorns this dress. This is definitely a beautiful dress to where during a destination wedding. You can definitely play it up with beautiful hair accessories.

Tulip & Pansies II

On May 21st, the "Tulips and Pansies - Headdress Affair" is a benefit for the Village Care of NY. I love these floral headpieces and with spring running into summer, what a great way to showcase the transition of the season. If you love the idea behind the Floral Show at Macy's, you'll love seeing these pieces as well.

I love this spring green/celeron color. Look at the cute purse that has more of the floral motif on it.

How dramatic is it that this black hat has pops of magenta and red on it. I do believe that this is my favorite hat within this collection of images.

Tulip & Pansies I

There are a few more images of the Tulip & Pansies event. I would love to know who the florist/stylist was for these elaborate headdresses.

This reminds me a little of the "Chiquitta Banana" lady. But I love how some of the floral elements pops into the dress and also into the shoes as well. I love the color of the dress as well.

I love lilies! This is such a clean look although there are a lot of lillies and they're huge. I think this is such a classic image.

How cute is this parasol with the beautiful flowers. I love how they also appear in the beret as well. This makes you want to creative and bring more flowers into your home.

Once again the hues of pink and purple look fabulous!

I love the crown of white flowers. This is a great oversized hat that would look great with a cocktail dress.

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week III

Jesus Peiro's dress hit the runway. I do love the layers and I like how he paired the dress with a charm necklace. In some ways this dress reminds me a slight gothic flair - interesting.

Hannibal Laguna's dress is like a floating dream and I love it. I would love to get actual footage to see how this dress flows as you walk and turn. It almost seems like there is a ruffling or "lettuce effect" on the edges of the fabric. I like the bodice as well. The dress is definitely something that you would notice if you wre in a showroom looking at all of your options.

Rosa Clara presents a wedding gown that I wasn't sure about until I saw how there is a jewel that ties most of the dress into the lacy portion that wraps around the neck. Yet another interesting concept.

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week II

More models hit the runway during Barcelong Bridal Fashion Week. It's interesting to see dresses that were apart of this show. Many were definitely ready to walk down the aisle while others would be perfect for other events.

Karolina Kurkova struts down the runway in a Patricia Avendado dress. I would wear this to an amazing benefit in South Beach - it doesn't scream wedding to me at all but I love the shimmer and the use of white and lilac. I love the high slut as well and even the floral effect is perfect.

This dress from Ruben Perlotti takes a blend of something old with something new. I like how the crea, color is almost like a sash swirling around the dress. The dream life presence of this dress is perfect for a bride on her wedding day.

Matilde Cano has an amazing dress that has textured fabric that makes anyone the primary focus when this is worn. You could wear this on the red carpet, at an exclusive event in South Beach or St Tropez. I love the color and how it's vibrant before you even make your first step!

Joanquim Verdu shows that that simplicity has its place as well. I love the grecian inspired look to this dress with the mauve colored ribbon. I would love to wear this if I were getting married at a beach or within a garden.

Victorio & Lucchino has a simplistic dress that is full of glam. I'm not a fan of wearing gloves but this fits with this dress. I have to say that I have gone from loving the ball gowns to liking items that shape the body. But it's nice to see how each designer presents one of the most important dresses you're bound to wear.
