CFDA 2007 Awards Brings Out the Best

The CFDA Awards brought out some of our favorite designers and celebs as well. It's nice to see so many of fashions' greatest in one place being honored for their passion!

Ralph Lauren and his wife attended this event. What a busy time for them since they just opened a store in Moscow. I love her dress!

Michael Kors and Debra Messing were also on hand. I have really become a fan of Michael Kors recently, it seems like overnight I started getting more of his pieces in my closet. I love his classic style which fits so perfectly with mine.

Miss Universe 2007, Riyo Mori, of Japan has a fabulous dress. I love the color and its simplicity!

What a fab trio. Oscar De La Renta posed with Lezaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough. They all share one thing in common, they all tied for the Womenswear Designer of the Year.

Derek Lam, one of my personal favorites, was named Accessories Designer of the Year.

Robert Morris was given a Lifetime Achievement Award.

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright received the Menswear Designer of the Year.

Above, Zac Posen poses during the awards.

A Pinch Here and There

Sometimes it's nice to have a little pinch of this and that brought together. Here we have a little something from Bosnia, Beirut and then back in NYC to an exhibit.

I have definitely gotten into prints and mixtures of color. I love this piece here which is perfect to go out on a beach for a night out with friends and a small party. This look elongates the leg and begs for very cute shoes. This outfit was designed by Bosnian Serb designer Dusko Orascanin. This show took place during an International Fashion Week entitled Moda Fest earlier this month.

I love the pop in color that's found within this outfit which hit the runway in Beirut earlier this month. Lebanese designer Tony Yaquob definitely knows how to accentuate the body in this outfit. I have to say that the top is amazing and I would love to have it within my closet. The pants are also perfect for the summer as well.

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY, "Poiret: King of Fashion" was on display. As many of you know, I am all about accessories and bringing in vintage looks. I love these headpieces and definitely hope to continue to see elements of this look as people look for ways to bring a bit of the Old World into the New World.

It's Almost the End of 2006 But Fashion Blazes On

Oh it's almost the end of the year and as sad as it is, it has been an interesting year and one that has us looking forward to what new items will be on the catwalk! So of course as many of you know, I run a lot of fashion blogs but this one always holds a special place so over the next few days I will be posting various runway shows and I have also obtained passes to attend a variety of events that will give you guys some interesting items to read on here and of course I encourage you to visit my other blogs to see what's going on over there as well!

This post turns to Polish designer Maciej Zien who presented her dramatic designs in Warsaw, Poland December 19th. Isn't it nice to know that as many of us bustled through the streets or online looking for our gifts - runways were still being accessed as designers placed their visions on them? Maciej is a new designer to me but I love the designs below!

There is something very old world about this ensemble and yet there is a supreme sexiness to it as well. I love that it's see through while not seriously revealing any opportunity for a wardrobe malfunction!

I must say that of the three designs pictured here, this one is my favorite by far and yes I could see a wardrobe malfunction here but I love the color and tone of this. There are many ways to wear this into real way versus runway. A cute lace cami would be a way to wear this as you're out and about. Pair this with some beaded shoes and super short shorts - very South Beach and sexy!

The "Lady in Red" is a great movie and there is something about wearing the color that people turn heads. Anytime you play with symmetry that can also work in your favor as well. This dress is perfect for a night out, a gala or any event that you feel the need to be noticed!
