Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week I

Barcelona definitely showed a variety of options for brides. During their Bridal Fashion Week, dresses representing all styles hit the runway. Within the 3 posts, you'll be able to find fabulous ideas that will work for your event.

The Model Novias collection at Barcelona Fashion Week on June 1st, hit the runway. The dress above reminds me of a dress that is from Gone With the Wind. I love that it has a great ball gown effect.

I love the feather/floral detaling on this dress. I think a wedding is about all the details. My favorite part of the dress is the straps. The lace details are absolutely amazing and I love the silhouette of this dress.

This dress was also apart of the Bridal Fashion Week. I must say that I don't see this as a wedding dress; however, I love the print and think that this could be amazing for a party or a red carpet event. I also love that it's belted - cute!

I belive that the belt on this dress is the same one that is on the dress above. I love the feathering on this belt. Most importantly, I love the tiered effect of this dress as well. I like taking something traditional and putting a twist on it.

This is another dress that appeared on the runway during the Bridal Fashion Week. I love the dress although I don't see it being apart of a wedding. I think this would be a great item to wear to a cocktail event or high end party. I love the hue, print and the bottom of the dress.

San-ai's Fashion Show in Tokyo

Sometimes its nice to see a fashion show that takes many concepts that we're familiar with - presented in a new way.

This is so cute because the bikinis are Pez themed. How cute to see that Pez continues on within our pop culture. I love how it actually says "Pez" on the bottoms.

This perfume themed bathing suit is adorable. I love that there is a little perfume bottle on the bottom that is linked via a chain. It looks like a mini Chanel bottle. I wouldn't go in the water with it, but if I was in South Beach taking a walk on the beach - this is a great conversation starter.

The Universe Collides in a Fashionable Way II

There are a few more images of the world's fabulous Miss Universe contestants. Although she has already been crowned, you can still enjoy the parade of nations!

Carolina Raven, Miss Aruba 2007, has a vibrant costume that is my second favorite of all the contestants at the fashion show during this past Miss Universe. I wonder how heavy some of these costumes are. I definitely think of the ocean when I look at this costume!

Rosa Maria Ojeda, is Miss Mexico 2007, and definitely looks super sweet in this skirt. I love the print on the skirt and the fact that it's a large circle and the cute hat is a great touch.

Miss Canada 2007, Inga Skaya, is super cute in her homage to the national sport of Hockey. How cute is she? I love the navy and white with that sporty look.

Miss Maria Jose Maldonado, Miss Paraguay 2007, looks fabulous in her plumage. I love the purple, black and silver colors. It must have been amazing to be there in person seeing all these items.

My favorite outfit is by Miss Brazil 2007, Natalie Guimaraes. I love the butterfly effect and the mauve hues. So cute and once again - how are they able to stand in these costumes!

The Universe Collides in a Fashionable Way

May 28th is the date of the crowning for the new Miss Universe but earlier this week in Mexico City, there was a fashion show to showcase the participants in their native dress. What an interesting way to see how each girl brought a bit of her nation and fashion sense to their host city. By no means does this include all girls that participated; however, it does give you a taste of what was shown. I never knew that they did a fashion show but what an interesting concept.

Jewel Garner, Miss Barbados 2007, definitely brought elements of the island into her outfit selection. You can never go wrong with a cute bathing suit and sarong. Of course fresh flowers are a perfect touch as well. I love the use of color and how the flowers tie back into her overall theme - great choice!

Sorangel Matos, Miss Panama 2007, used a variety of feathers and metallic tones to compliment her neutral palate. It's definitely an exotic outfit and one with a lot of elements in it to create the overall look.

Honey Lee, Miss Korea 2007, went with a traditional style of dress. The hat is super cute.

Rachel Smit, Miss USA 2007, brings Sexy Back with a tribute to music and namely Elvis. I love that the guitar has the red, white and blue. Also I love the sunglasses - what a great touch. It's definitely interesting and begs the question that if you were the stylist asked to come up with an outfit that described the USA, what would you envision? I would love to see some posts on this. I am definitely getting my thinking cap on for this one. Post away though and let me know what you would have chosen.

Finally Anna Theresa Licaro, MIss Phillippines 2007, wears an interesting dress that's vibrant in colors and I love the face mask with the plummage on it.

The Runways of the Spanish Canary Islands

Earlier this month, designers descended upon the Spanish Canary Island of Gran Canaria to present their sizzling outfits.

In my opinion the first rule of going away to a warm climate for a vacation or accepting an invitation to an event or party when it's warm: Find an outfit that is definitely comfortable while also having a sexiness to it. I believe that the colors of this outfit and it easy movement makes this a winner. Eva Divine, the designer definitely knows how to work form and function together.

Andres Sarda also shows how you can make a wrap for a bathing suit go to a completely other level. I love it belted and showing your bottoms which is perfect. The color and print are fabulous as well.

I'm a huge fan of La Perla and love this gold tone bathing suit; moreover, the embellishments are the most eye catching. The bottom part of the bathing suit is also amazing. This is a great look to wear to the beach.

Lenita's bathing suit makes a statement with its "wild side" approach. I love the stripes and feel that it is a definite eye catcher regardless of what beach you wear this to.

A Pinch Here and There

Sometimes it's nice to have a little pinch of this and that brought together. Here we have a little something from Bosnia, Beirut and then back in NYC to an exhibit.

I have definitely gotten into prints and mixtures of color. I love this piece here which is perfect to go out on a beach for a night out with friends and a small party. This look elongates the leg and begs for very cute shoes. This outfit was designed by Bosnian Serb designer Dusko Orascanin. This show took place during an International Fashion Week entitled Moda Fest earlier this month.

I love the pop in color that's found within this outfit which hit the runway in Beirut earlier this month. Lebanese designer Tony Yaquob definitely knows how to accentuate the body in this outfit. I have to say that the top is amazing and I would love to have it within my closet. The pants are also perfect for the summer as well.

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY, "Poiret: King of Fashion" was on display. As many of you know, I am all about accessories and bringing in vintage looks. I love these headpieces and definitely hope to continue to see elements of this look as people look for ways to bring a bit of the Old World into the New World.

Albania Fashion Week

Earlier this month, Albania enjoyed its Fashion Week. Below are two looks that hit the runway from John Peci.

I love the ice pink color and the ruffles of this outfit which are dramatic but don't provide the "outfit walking the person" effect. I really love the top and feel that that look could be worn in so many ways.

Layers and ruffles was definitely a theme from John Peci and once again, it's done well with this outfit. I love this off the shoulder look and the ruffles that are tiered what an interesting look and once again one that is not amazingly overwhelming.

A Robe of Any Color

In Amman, Jordan there was a fashion show for charity the showcased a variety of robes. I definitely enjoyed looking through a variety of images to see the craftsmanship on these delicate pieces.

I love the red and navy robe mainly because of the sleeves. It reminds me of something that's extremely regal with a commanding presence.

This is my favorite robe. This white and maroon combination is such a crisp look and the piece under has a belt/sash that picks up the motif of the robe on top. I love it. I only wish that I could see the workmanship up close which would only make me love this outfit even more!

This outfit is something out of a dream of sorts. I love the color and the trims that were selected.

Ralph Comes to Moscow

Fashion is definitely a language that can be interpreted in a variety of ways; however, it's also a means to connect or in many ways reconnect. Earlier this month, Ralph Lauren opened a store in Moscow and was thrilled to bring his icon American brand to Russia. At the same time, he was pleased that after 40 years in fashion he is able to come to a place where he can retrace his roots. Not only did he open his boutique but he had a fabulous show at the US Ambassadors' home. With all the glitz and glamor that appeared on this stage, the show was nothing short of a regal welcome.

The jacket above is definitely in keeping of the trend of metallics. I love the cut of this military styled jacket and the hat is a great compliment to the overall look.

This dress is my favorite from this show. I love the plunging neckline and think that this is a great piece that begs for a variety of accessories to pair with it.

Once again the metallic and glitzy theme was prevalent throughout the night. A great way to introduce this collection and the store to Moscow.

Cruise Along with Dior

I haven't taken a cruise in awhile, here lately, I just fly straight to my island of choice. Wherever you're heading, Dior presented their 2008 Dior Cruise Collection on May 14th. With so many fabulous items coming down the runway, I feel that everyone left feeling the need to book their next resort vacation.

This outfit is super cute. It reminds me of the perfect "Barbie" sophisticated look and I adore the shoes. This definitely creates a fab look when you enter into the lobby of your resort hotel.

My favorite part about this outfit is the hat. It definitely gives quite the impression. I am all about hats and tend to wear them during my vacations. Classy and yet perfect to protect yourself from the rays.

I love this baby doll top. It's perfect to pair with your bathing suits (I just got one that's in this hue) or great to pair with pants as well for a night out. I love the plunging neckline and you wouldn't do the outfit justice if you didn't have large sunglasses on it.

This show wouldn't be complete without the bathing suit! Once again the hat is great and the clutch is an added touch as well.

Australian Fashion Week Shows Their Stuff

Australian Fashion Week set out to show not only their creations but that they had the longest catwalk at 200 meters as well. Bragging rights aside, it's always fun to see the best of what's available on any catwalk in the world and warm weather doesn't hurt.

Australian label Bowie (no relation to David Bowie; however, I have been addicted to Modern Love all this week)has this cute yellow baby doll dress that's very sweet and has a little sizzle to it. I have gotten into this style of dress without a doubt.

This ensemble from Milk and Honey is another cute set. I have always been a fan of grey and black and love the cropped short sleeve jacket.

Bec and Bridge has a cute yellow dress that is perfect for layering and running errands wherever you live. Pair this with Espadrilles and a shopping tote and you're set.

I love this set from Silence is Golden. The short shorts are perfect for a night out and I love the hat that gives a very chic look to the entire outfit.

Derby Day Arrives

I grew up loving the Derby seeing that I'm from Indianapolis and this event meant that the Indy 500 was that much closer to coming. There's nothing like May in the midwest to get you excited about the approaching summer. Derby is more than just the race, it's a fun time of getting together with friends and while I was at Indiana University, we would visit Kentucky from the late winter to the early spring to celebrate this event. But the best part of the Derby is the fashion. I have always promised myself that one year I would attend the Derby and look as stylish as the ladies below!

Jenny McCarthy looks fabulous in her ensemble which would not be complete with the classy oversized hat.

Former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey looks fabulous in pink with a mint julep in her hand as well.

Topshop Hits the Runway

TopShop is a boutique in London (there is another one in the city as well in case you don't have your passport ready). I believe that this show took place during LA's Fashion Week at Smashbox. I love the pieces that appeared on the runway and definitely had to share with all of you of course.

I love the white dress seen here. This is great in so many ways and can be worn to work, out to an event or just with your friends for a night out. It's simple and I hope it travels well because it would be a staple in my wardrobe wherever I went.

I love this peachy dress, it's cute and I love how it wraps around the neck. This is perfect to wear in the Hamptons or anywhere that's a little resort like. This is the first thing I would wear to my weekly brunch as well.

The model wearing this dress looked so cute that I had to take a second thought on this dress. Although I personally would not wear it, it could be cute. Also, I would pair large accessories with it since I am a fan of proportion. This is cute to run errands prior to going to a gallery to visit your friend's work or even on a date.

Fashion Week in Moscow

Moscow Fashion Week brought about some interesting styles that remind me of a variety of books I read, bringing the characters to life essentially. This old world meets the new world is a great look and a bit of theatre as well.

I love the colors of all three outfits and am a huge fan of the dress in the middle. These outfits are begging for large accessories that give you extra glitter.

This black and white ensemble is eye catching and also plays up those classic Victorian elements. I love the tall hat, the gloves and the stark elements.

All I can say is this piece is my favorite - love the hat and the outfit as well.

Mumbai Fashion Week Part II

This post completes the recent Fashion Week with a variety of fabulous looks. Once again I am always amazed to see what comes down the runway.

I love this red dress! I like how the material flows and I love how they paired it with a black belt as well. It's a sassy look.

This cream/golden look is perfect - it brings out the inner empress.

This cute and sassy white ensemble is perfect to run around, attend a premier or any other event!
